Scoring & interpretation
Each item is scored from 0 (never) to 3 (always). The responses are summed to obtain six subscale scores, a total anxiety score and an overall anxiety and depression score.
Each raw score is then converted into a T-score, which places the child relative to young people of the same sex and age. A T-score of 50 corresponds to the mean, 65 to the borderline threshold and 70 to the clinical threshold, above which clinically significant anxiety or depressive symptoms are likely.
